Join Forvis Mazars as a Federal Tax Specialty intern to assist engagement teams in identifying and supporting cash-generating tax incentives.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Assist engagement teams with execution of engagements to identify and support cash-generating tax incentives
- Participate in project planning and assist in identifying, quantifying, and qualifying business activities
- Prepare supporting documentation for tax incentives
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across industries including manufacturing, technology, retail, and utilities
- Identify, analyze, and qualify value-oriented benefits
- Perform tax research related to tax technical topics
- Update and maintain project milestones and action items
- Conduct client interviews and gather and review client documentation
- Substantiate results through presentations and written reports to clients
- Assist in research and analysis of client data
- Organize incoming documents and files from clients
- Provide project status updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Compile and review project reports
- Plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional projects to serve client needs
- Deliver unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication
About You
The company is looking for:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (other majors may be considered)
- Effective time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving attitude and willingness to take initiative
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel to client locations, including occasional overnight stays
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned office and ability to attend off-site meetings in person
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available
- Preferred: Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (major and overall)
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $32 to $36 (Illinois market)
- Overtime pay at time and a half for hours worked over 40 per week (non-exempt/hourly positions)
