Join CDM Smith as an Environmental Scientist, contributing to environmental site investigations and studies within a supportive and inclusive team.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing basic compilation and analysis of site data under direct supervision.
- Assisting with the application of site data to support project approaches.
- Conducting field site investigations including soil, water, air sampling, wetland delineation, and wildlife/habitat surveys.
- Assisting with preparation of environmental studies such as NEPA documents, field reports, and feasibility studies.
- Collaborating with scientists, engineers, and construction staff to implement approved project approaches like restoration and remediation.
- Providing advice and expertise on selected project approaches.
- Contributing to the firm’s technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
- Submitting technical papers and designs for publication in technical journals.
- Creating or assisting in the creation of presentation materials for conferences.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline; equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- 0 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of standard field protocols in environmental science.
- Familiarity with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of scientific methods and processes.
- Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 80% depending on project demands.
