Join Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP as an Environmental Intern supporting environmental design and compliance.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Support Senior Project Environmental Scientists and Engineers with environmental design and compliance tasks
  • Prepare state and federal environmental documentation, including NEPA
  • Conduct socioeconomic analysis, including environmental justice
  • Perform wetland delineations and stream assessments
  • Evaluate threatened and endangered species habitats and conduct surveys
  • Assist with Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting
  • Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys of terrestrial ecosystems
  • Participate in fieldwork requiring periodic travel, including overnight stays

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively
  • Positive attitude and cooperative work ethic
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments, including high temperatures and steep terrain
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software preferred
  • Physical ability to perform field tasks such as walking on uneven terrain, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
  • Authorization to work full-time in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
