Join Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP as an Environmental Intern supporting environmental design and compliance.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Support Senior Project Environmental Scientists and Engineers with environmental design and compliance tasks
- Prepare state and federal environmental documentation, including NEPA
- Conduct socioeconomic analysis, including environmental justice
- Perform wetland delineations and stream assessments
- Evaluate threatened and endangered species habitats and conduct surveys
- Assist with Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting
- Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys of terrestrial ecosystems
- Participate in fieldwork requiring periodic travel, including overnight stays
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively
- Positive attitude and cooperative work ethic
- Willingness to take on new challenges and learn
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments, including high temperatures and steep terrain
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software preferred
- Physical ability to perform field tasks such as walking on uneven terrain, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
- Authorization to work full-time in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
