Join Tesla as an EHS Intern to support safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability projects across multiple teams and locations.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Engage in a variety of EHS disciplines including equipment safety, industrial hygiene, occupational ergonomics, environmental compliance, sustainability, and training & education.
- Work under mentorship of EHS specialists and managers on projects critical to team success.
- Collaborate with teams from production to engineering to provide EHS support for day-to-day operations.
- Conduct safety walkthroughs and audits, deliver safety trainings, participate in workplace incident analyses, and help drive corrective actions.
- Support specific teams such as Construction Safety, Safety, Environmental, R&D, Sustainability Operations, Fire Management and Prevention, Emergency Management, and Industrial Hygiene.
- Assist with compliance to safety regulations, manage safety projects, analyze environmental data, and contribute to emergency preparedness and response.
- Work locations include Fremont, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Sparks, NV; Austin, TX; and Buffalo, NY.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Industrial Safety, Public Health, Safety, or a related field.
- Previous work experience or internships related to EHS or relevant expertise.
- Experience or knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Python.
- Ability to develop and maintain key project metrics and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies.
- Strong adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment.

Training & Development
