AMT seeks an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to support diverse projects with a hybrid work schedule in Richmond, VA.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Support a variety of projects including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports
  • Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, perform cross-section and super-elevation design, roadway modeling, and transportation infrastructure plans
  • Compute quantity takeoffs
  • Collaborate with the Richmond office and potentially other AMT offices on project opportunities

About You

The company is looking for:

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Engineering-in-Training Certification or ability to obtain within 6-12 months
  • Prior internship or work experience preferred; experience with Municipal or State/US Department of Transportation projects a plus
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads preferred
  • Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word and Excel
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
