Join Sargent & Lundy as an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer providing design and consulting services for power and industrial projects.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed calculations for soil parameters, pile capacity, foundation capacity, settlement, and slope stability
- Collaborate with Designers to accurately portray technical information on drawings
- Prepare specifications for subsurface investigations, foundations, ground improvement, earth retaining systems, monitoring wells, and earthwork
- Prepare bid tabulations and technical recommendations for bids received
- Provide designs and work closely with all design disciplines and business groups within Sargent & Lundy
- Conduct on-site quality surveillance of subsurface exploration and provide onsite representation during construction
- Establish laboratory testing programs and review vendor documents for specification conformity
- Participate in dam and dike examinations
- Travel domestically 25-50% and occasionally internationally
About You
The company is looking for:
- BSCE required; MSCE preferred with strong geotechnical engineering coursework
- Understanding of field data collection methods such as soil borings, CPTs, and shear wave profiles
- Coursework in Soil Mechanics, Shallow Foundation, Deep Foundation, and Slope Stability
- Familiarity with design tools/software including LPILE, Slope/W, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- US Citizenship required to support nuclear power projects
- Professional presence in client and construction settings
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Valued but not required: FE exam passed, experience in geotechnical design for power plants and transmission facilities

- Salary range: $60,660.00 - $87,090.00
