Join Jacobs as an Entry-Level Highway/Roadway Engineer in Philadelphia, PA, contributing to innovative transportation infrastructure projects.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Work on planning, design, and maintenance of large-scale infrastructure projects for state and local government clients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team under guidance of professional engineers and senior technical staff.
  • Provide design and engineering services for highways, expressways, and major road networks.
  • Prepare right-of-way plans, detailed roadway designs, drainage solutions, floodplain management strategies, and intersection improvements.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, utility locators, and surveyors to meet project requirements.
  • Use CADD software to create engineering drawings, layouts, and models following established standards and procedures.
  • Participate actively in project meetings, contributing expertise and insights.
  • Manage time and responsibilities effectively to deliver accurate, complete, and timely work.

About You

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak).
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Previous design or transportation-related coursework or experience (preferred).
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain within 6 months (preferred).
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative mindset, and strong work ethic.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $62,500 to $95,000, paid hourly based on hours worked, determined by location, skills, experience, and education.
