Join Jacobs as an Entry-Level Highway/Roadway Engineer in Philadelphia, PA, contributing to innovative transportation infrastructure projects.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Work on planning, design, and maintenance of large-scale infrastructure projects for state and local government clients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team under guidance of professional engineers and senior technical staff.
- Provide design and engineering services for highways, expressways, and major road networks.
- Prepare right-of-way plans, detailed roadway designs, drainage solutions, floodplain management strategies, and intersection improvements.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, utility locators, and surveyors to meet project requirements.
- Use CADD software to create engineering drawings, layouts, and models following established standards and procedures.
- Participate actively in project meetings, contributing expertise and insights.
- Manage time and responsibilities effectively to deliver accurate, complete, and timely work.
About You
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak).
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
- Previous design or transportation-related coursework or experience (preferred).
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain within 6 months (preferred).
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative mindset, and strong work ethic.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $62,500 to $95,000, paid hourly based on hours worked, determined by location, skills, experience, and education.
