Join Jacobs as an Entry-Level Chemical/Process Engineer working on innovative projects in Greenville, SC, Appleton, WI, or Pittsburgh, PA.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Work on state-of-the-art projects implementing, modifying, and maintaining process designs.
- Assist with development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team blending theoretical knowledge with practical application.
- Develop flow diagrams, perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment, and develop process specifications under guidance.
- Ensure design and construction conform to functional specifications, codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Utilize software such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant.
- Manage time and responsibilities effectively to deliver high-quality work.
- Work in conjunction with professional engineers, architects, and senior technical staff.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Basic understanding of process design principles and standards.
- Relevant internship experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ideally, experience developing PFDs and P&IDs.
- Basic knowledge of ASPEN, PipeFlo (Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, and SmartPlant.
- Previous exposure to manufacturing processes, process engineering, and design activities.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits or client meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $58,656.00 to $85,900.00, determined by location, skills, experience, and education.
