Support engineering projects across departments as a Fall co-op at Dana Incorporated.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Benchmark Lab: Teardown competitor products, document components with photos, and prepare teardown analysis reports.
  • Gear Lab: Operate gear production equipment, perform tooling changeovers, collect and analyze gear dimension data, and learn about gear production.
  • Materials Lab: Prepare samples for metallurgical/chemical testing, perform material analysis, evaluate results, and prepare test reports.
  • Test Lab: Assist engineers with testing and development, assemble and analyze products, and document safe manufacturing work instructions.
  • Samples Department: Assist in building prototype axle and driveshaft assemblies, review and create safety documentation, and support 5S methodology implementation.
  • Applications Engineering: Analyze vehicle requirements, collaborate on new part designs, interface with CAD for assembly prints, manage prototype parts, oversee lab testing, and maintain customer communication.
  • Product Engineering: Develop new product designs, address manufacturing process challenges, communicate with CAD for component prints, oversee lab testing, and coordinate with purchasing for suppliers.
