Join Tesla’s firmware platforms team to develop high-quality embedded C code for real-time systems in electric vehicles, energy, and robotics.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment
- Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems
- Design software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, testing, and high-volume manufacturing
- Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization
- Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science or related field with a graduation date between 2026-2027
- Experience writing firmware in both bare-metal and RTOS contexts
- Experience in embedded development in robotics, real-time controls, or system software is a plus
- Strong software fundamentals including software design and maintainability
- Experience with embedded microprocessor tools like debuggers and logic analyzers
- Familiarity with test-driven development and developer-driven automated testing
- Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts

How to Apply
Applicants must be actively enrolled in an academic program and able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks starting around January 2026 through May 2026, with possible extension into Summer 2026.
