Electrical Engineering Intern - Fairfax (Jun 2026)

Join CDM Smith as an Electrical Engineering Intern working on diverse public, federal, and industrial projects with a leading engineering team.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Develop drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Perform electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assist in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Review shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
• Collaborate with a dynamic team of industry-leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of projects.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related discipline.
• Interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.
