Join AECOM as an Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls Intern supporting water and wastewater projects in Chelmsford, MA.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Perform engineering tasks related to the design and layout of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections using Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP, and/or Revit.
  • Work under the mentorship and supervision of Registered Professional Engineers and senior engineers.
  • Support projects in water, wastewater treatment, flood protection, and associated areas.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university with at least two years of study completed, or recent graduates planning to continue with a Master’s degree.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and engineering analysis software.
  • Proficient with spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and writing skills.
  • Coursework in Calculus, Physics, and Computer Science.
  • Participation in university extracurricular clubs such as IEEE or SAE is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship; relocation assistance is not available.
