Electrical Drafter I - Nuclear Power at Sargent & Lundy offers hands-on training in 3D design software and collaboration with engineers in a multi-disciplined team.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Utilize and expand electrical drafting skills in a team environment with designers and engineers
- Prepare design drawings based on design input
- Apply computer-aided drafting skills using AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation
- Receive training in proprietary design databases
- Create master sketches to scale showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities
- Assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns to gather project information
- Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments
About You
What you'll need:
- Associate’s Degree with emphasis in electrical drafting
- Basic knowledge of standard computer drafting tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid
- Ability to multi-task across projects
- Valued but not required: Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design
- Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation software
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models
- Understanding of practical application of engineering science and technology
