Electrical Drafter I - Nuclear Power at Sargent & Lundy offers hands-on training in 3D design software and collaboration with engineers in a multi-disciplined team.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Utilize and expand electrical drafting skills in a team environment with designers and engineers
  • Prepare design drawings based on design input
  • Apply computer-aided drafting skills using AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Receive training in proprietary design databases
  • Create master sketches to scale showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities
  • Assist experienced designers on client facility walkdowns to gather project information
  • Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments

About You

What you'll need:

  • Associate’s Degree with emphasis in electrical drafting
  • Basic knowledge of standard computer drafting tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid
  • Ability to multi-task across projects
  • Valued but not required: Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design
  • Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation software
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Understanding of practical application of engineering science and technology
