Early Career Avionics Software Engineer role at Blue Origin involves developing and testing software for engineering systems with a focus on finite element analysis and applied software development.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing code for analysis, design, development, test, verification, release, and operations of engineering system software.
- Conducting requirement analysis, documenting technical specifications, writing, reviewing, and debugging code.
- Developing finite element analysis (FEA) software using mathematical calculations, models, and simulations.
- Creating distinct software solutions for exclusive purposes or users, excluding customization of commercial software.
- Working on projects that may include avionics software, embedded software, enterprise software, integrated system test, controls, machine learning, robotics, and avionics hardware.
- Collaborating across Blue Origin business units, functions, and locations.
About You
What you'll need:
- Successful completion of a Blue Origin internship in 2025.
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a college or university.
- Ability to start full-time work on or before September 2026.
- Minimum B.S. degree in physics, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
- Self-driven with minimal direction needed to seek out requirements.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Blue Origin’s mission and a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
- U.S. citizenship, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawful admission as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges: CA $99,445.00-$139,222.65; CO $91,158.00-$127,621.20; WA $99,445.00-$139,222.65; other site ranges may differ.
