Internship opportunity at ABB to support automation system design, development, and testing in an onsite Milwaukee role.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the application engineering team to design automation systems
  • Assist in the development and testing of automation software
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems
  • Assist with the creation of technical sales demonstrations
  • Support the development of documentation and user manuals for automation systems
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project progress
  • Participate in product inventories and manage department equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Assist with other engineering team duties as assigned

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards
  • Collaboration skills to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; no relocation assistance or stipend provided

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate between $20 - $34, based on qualifications, graduation year, and experience
  • No company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions, or paid time off for internships
