Join AECOM as a Dam Safety Engineering Summer 2026 Intern supporting dam projects with a focus on structural, geotechnical, or hydraulic engineering in a hybrid work model.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Provide support for projects including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities related to dams.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on various dam and hydraulic structure projects.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Travel part-time as needed for project work.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis or interest in structural, geotechnical, or hydrologic and hydraulic engineering, having completed at least 3 years of study.
  • Graduates planning to continue with a Master’s degree in a related discipline are eligible.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred.
  • Strong desire to learn and professional drive.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel part-time for project work.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Knowledge of dam engineering concepts through coursework or experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
