Consultant State and Local Tax (SALT) (May 2026)

Join Forvis Mazars as a Consultant in State and Local Tax (SALT) to identify tax savings opportunities and deliver expert client service across multiple states.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying optimal filing options
• Analyzing and reviewing apportionment information
• Supervising client engagements
• Planning and researching tax issues
• Preparing technical memorandums
• Providing audit assistance
• Assisting with state income tax compliance
• Delivering Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients

About You

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Reliable transportation to and from assigned office and ability to attend off-site meetings and events in person
• Effective time management
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
• Problem-solving attitude and willingness to take initiative
• Close attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines
• Knowledge of multi-state income and franchise taxes
• Knowledge of nexus and revenue sourcing issues
• Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)
• Preferred: Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or other professional certifications' exams
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range for Colorado market: $66,000 to $70,000 USD, based on experience, education, and skill set
