Be a Research intern at Microsoft Applied Sciences Group, focusing on machine learning and computer vision to enhance the Windows user experience.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Engage in cutting-edge machine learning (ML), video, and graphics research.
- Contribute to improving Windows user experience through ML and AI applications such as video capture, augmented reality (AR) for tele-conferencing, and gesture/environment understanding.
- Work within Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group to apply computer vision technologies to millions of PC users and developers.
- Collaborate with world-class research labs and globally-recognized scientists and engineers.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a master's program or Ph.D. in computer vision or closely related fields.
- Physically located at the manager’s Microsoft worksite location for the internship duration.
- Submission of a minimum of two reference letters, a cover letter, and relevant work or research samples is required.
- Preferred: Demonstrated publication record in top-tier vision or ML conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, IJCAI, 3DV) and journals (IEEE/ACM Transactions, IJCV).
- Preferred: Comprehensive deep learning, algorithmic, and software engineering background.
- Preferred: Experience with self-supervised learning, mixture of experts, and/or applications to dense vision problems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Applied Sciences IC2 internship base pay range: USD $5,610 - $11,010 per month.
- For San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area locations, base pay range: USD $7,270 - $12,030 per month.
- Applied Sciences IC3 internship base pay range: USD $6,710 - $13,270 per month.
