The University of Miami Department of Orthopedics seeks a full-time Clinical Business Operations Representative to manage pre- and post-operative patient care and administrative functions in Miami, FL.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Facilitate prompt resolution of pre- and post-care clinical operation issues.
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and referral information.
  • Review orthopaedic clinical records for completeness, including authorizations and signatures.
  • Answer multiple telephones, triage calls, respond to inquiries, and document messages using appropriate software.
  • Greet visitors and callers, direct them to appropriate staff, and handle inquiries professionally.
  • Work cooperatively with orthopaedic surgeons, providers, and staff to ensure smooth clinical and surgical workflows.
  • Provide coverage for co-workers’ responsibilities as needed.
  • Promote effective communication among physicians, managers, trainees, and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and departmental policies.
  • Adhere to University and departmental policies and safeguard University assets.
  • Assist with coordination of orthopaedic surgical care overload, including scheduling and authorizations.

About You

  • No previous experience required.
  • Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
