Collaborate with CDM Smith's CEI team as a Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer supporting construction inspection and client coordination on transportation infrastructure projects.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with construction inspection activities at transportation infrastructure projects including roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion & control, and maintenance and traffic field site locations.
  • Maintain relationships with clients and contractors to ensure construction activities meet schedule and contract requirements.
  • Estimate manpower needs, schedule, and assign work to meet client deadlines.
  • Assist with coordination of field inspection staff work.
  • Participate in new business development and maintain existing client relationships.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new strategies to enhance CEI capabilities.
  • Stay informed on new methods and developments affecting CDM Smith and recommend or implement program changes as needed.

About You

The company is looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline (0 years experience acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally (approximately 5%).
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
