Arcadis seeks a Buried Infrastructure Intern to support sustainable sanitary/environmental engineering projects with a focus on fieldwork and client engagement.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting buried infrastructure and conveyance disciplines including water distribution, sewer collection, pumping, storage, and treatment systems
- Performing approximately 75% fieldwork including construction engineering and infrastructure condition assessments
- Conducting inspections, flow monitoring, condition assessments, and construction oversight including confined space entry
- Preparing conceptual to detailed designs and contract documents for municipal and industrial water/wastewater systems
- Interpreting flow monitoring data, managing data, and integrating GIS for modeling
- Communicating regularly with Arcadis staff, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders through verbal and written reports
- Traveling locally and regionally for field assignments
- Engaging in client and contractor management and team leadership activities
About You
The company is looking for:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or arts and sciences
- Willingness to work in office and field environments with emphasis on fieldwork
- Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and GIS
- Physical ability to lift/carry heavy equipment and perform rigorous field investigations
- Comfortable with confined space entry after training
- Valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently and in teams
- Preferred: Prior internship experience in infrastructure inspection, rehabilitation, design, or construction
- Preferred: Experience or training with AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $20.00 - $30.00
