Join Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP as an Entry Level Structural Engineer in Richmond, VA, contributing to diverse infrastructure and building projects with a collaborative team.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for various building types and materials.
  • Conduct field investigations and develop concept designs.
  • Create construction documents for clients across Federal/Local Government, Industrial, and Manufacturing markets.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects on projects including buildings, industrial facilities, mission critical/secure facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • 0-4 years of structural design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration from an ABET accredited program.
  • Internship experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.).
  • Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration preferred.
  • Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
