Join CDM Smith as an Automation (Instrumentation & Controls) Engineering Intern working on diverse public, federal, and industrial projects with a collaborative engineering team.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Develop process and instrumentation diagrams, electrical component interconnection diagrams, control system databases, process control graphics, and controller programming.
  • Participate in all phases of control systems projects including design, development, testing, integration, and startup.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including process, chemical, and electrical engineers.
  • Work on services such as SCADA system design, instrumentation design, 3D/4D P&ID drawing creation, process design and optimization, control network design, wired and wireless communication, security system design, and legacy system replacement.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $24.23 to $40.70 per hour, varying by geographic location and candidate qualifications.
  • Discretionary bonuses may apply.
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
