Automation Engineer 1 (Start ASAP)

Join CDM Smith as an Automation (Instrumentation & Controls) Engineer to design and support instrumentation and control systems in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Create basic instrumentation, controls, and related systems designs using 3D and 4D drafting programs.
• Review simple component-level shop drawings.
• Create basic human-machine interface (HMI) designs, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and reports.
• Assist with testing and startup of instrumentation, controls, and related systems.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline; equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• 0 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and related systems designs.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Moderate knowledge of 3D and 4D CAD drafting.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10%, depending on workload and project demands.
