L3Harris seeks an Associate Software Engineer to develop embedded software for advanced tactical radio equipment in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts in software development for target applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces and system design
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded real-time control software
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and related documentation
- Utilize modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
- Participate in peer reviews, identify, track, and repair defects
- Use various programming languages including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt on Windows, Linux, mobile, and embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, etc.)
- Apply digital signal processing (DSP), communication systems, and software engineering principles
- Understand time domain vs frequency domain analysis, filter structures, and modulation/coding algorithms
- Work in an agile environment supporting embedded software and firmware development for tactical radio equipment
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed (within 12 months) a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or related field
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, JEE, HTML5, XML, SQL, Qt, Windows, .NET, Unix, Linux, SOA, RTOS, Real-Time Controls, Wireless, Software Security, Robotics, OOA/OOD, Hadoop, Android, Embedded Systems
- Experience with embedded Linux and real-time operating systems such as QNX, and processor designs from Motorola, Intel, TI, or custom processors
