L3Harris seeks an IP Network Engineer to design, implement, and support innovative network solutions for critical infrastructure and FAA programs.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting management and implementation of IP network solutions across multiple programs
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams and working independently on projects from design to implementation
  • Developing network designs based on user requirements and creating network diagrams using Visio
  • Configuring network equipment and documenting requirements and implementation
  • Evaluating technologies and designs for FAA critical infrastructure and service needs
  • Implementing solutions supporting FAA’s NextGen visions and customer objectives
  • Serving as escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Operations team problem resolution
  • Participating in inter-program initiatives to resolve technical challenges
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and training materials for knowledge transfer
  • Maintaining operational excellence of network systems to exceed customer expectations
  • Defining and implementing best practices for network and capacity management
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and network optimization
  • Performing proof of concepts and service trials with system integration documentation
  • Traveling as required for requirement meetings and system integration planning

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed (within 12 months) a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (network focus), or Computer Science (Communications/Network focus)
  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN, TDM, VoIP, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM, and routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and EIGRP
  • Familiarity with DWDM, CTI, VPN technologies, signaling protocols, TDM framing/timing, IP networks, and SONET infrastructure
  • Understanding of Optical Carrier specifications (OC3 to OC192) and digital signaling (DS0 through DS3)
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP preferred
  • Systems administration skills
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
