L3Harris seeks an IP Network Engineer to design, implement, and support innovative network solutions for critical infrastructure and FAA programs.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting management and implementation of IP network solutions across multiple programs
- Collaborating with internal and external teams and working independently on projects from design to implementation
- Developing network designs based on user requirements and creating network diagrams using Visio
- Configuring network equipment and documenting requirements and implementation
- Evaluating technologies and designs for FAA critical infrastructure and service needs
- Implementing solutions supporting FAA’s NextGen visions and customer objectives
- Serving as escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Operations team problem resolution
- Participating in inter-program initiatives to resolve technical challenges
- Creating and maintaining documentation and training materials for knowledge transfer
- Maintaining operational excellence of network systems to exceed customer expectations
- Defining and implementing best practices for network and capacity management
- Identifying opportunities for automation and network optimization
- Performing proof of concepts and service trials with system integration documentation
- Traveling as required for requirement meetings and system integration planning
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed (within 12 months) a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (network focus), or Computer Science (Communications/Network focus)
- Knowledge of WAN/LAN, TDM, VoIP, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM, and routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and EIGRP
- Familiarity with DWDM, CTI, VPN technologies, signaling protocols, TDM framing/timing, IP networks, and SONET infrastructure
- Understanding of Optical Carrier specifications (OC3 to OC192) and digital signaling (DS0 through DS3)
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP preferred
- Systems administration skills
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
