L3Harris seeks an Associate Materials & Processes Engineer to support rocket propulsion materials and process development at its Orange, VA site.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting rocket propulsion materials and process development under direct supervision
  • Performing entry-level engineering assignments following established procedures and policies
  • Conducting routine laboratory analysis of chemicals, energetic, and non-energetic materials using scientific instruments
  • Setting up and conducting tests/experimental procedures under controlled environmental conditions
  • Designing experiments to produce consistent, repeatable results
  • Assisting in data reduction and report generation
  • Supporting senior engineering staff and gaining experience with programs, processes, and products
  • Contributing to materials engineering support for propellant development, production manufacturing, and testing
  • Assisting in material and formulation selection and tailoring propellant formulations based on literature and experimental data
  • Generating technical reports and presentations to document findings
  • Consolidating results and preparing findings for reports

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Applicants pursuing or having completed within the last 12 months a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
