Join Microsoft as an Applied Scientist Intern to work on advanced machine learning and AI projects, contributing to innovative product solutions.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Analyze and improve performance of advanced algorithms on large-scale datasets and machine learning applications.
- Identify key challenges in product scenarios and design experimental processes for iteration and optimization.
- Implement prototypes of scalable AI systems.
- Gain understanding of broad research areas, applicable techniques, and industry trends; share knowledge with team members.
- Prepare and review data for analysis, addressing data quality issues and suggesting data inclusion/exclusion.
- Assist in developing usable datasets for modeling and support scaling of feature ideation and data preparation.
- Adapt cleaned data for machine learning purposes under senior team member guidance.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining after the internship.
- Enrolled full-time in a relevant bachelor's or master's degree program during the academic term immediately before the internship.
- Preferred: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: USD $5610.00 - $11010.00 per month (varies by location).
- Higher pay range for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $7270.00 - $12030.00 per month.
