Applied Science: Internship Opportunities – Mountain View (Start ASAP)

Join Microsoft as an Applied Scientist Intern to work on AI, machine learning, and data science projects that impact real-world products.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Analyze and improve performance of advanced algorithms on large-scale datasets and machine intelligence applications.
• Translate product scenarios into machine learning tasks, design experiments for iteration and optimization.
• Implement prototypes of scalable AI systems.
• Gain broad research knowledge and share insights with team members.
• Prepare and review data for analysis, addressing quality and technical constraints.
• Develop usable datasets for modeling and support feature ideation and data preparation.
• Adapt cleaned data for machine learning under senior team guidance.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, or related field.
• Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining after the internship.
• Enrolled full-time in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree program during the academic term before the internship.
• Preferred: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: USD $5610.00 - $11010.00 per month (varies by location).
• Higher pay range for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $7270.00 - $12030.00 per month.
