Application Engineering Intern - Alpharetta (Jun 2026)

Join ABB as an Application Engineering Intern in Alpharetta, GA, supporting automation system design and development in a leading global company.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Collaborate with the application engineering team to design automation systems
• Assist in the development and testing of automation software
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems
• Assist with the creation of technical sales demonstrations
• Support the development of documentation and user manuals for automation systems
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project progress
• Participate in product inventories and manage department equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Assist with other engineering team duties as assigned

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields in the United States
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
• Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality
• Collaboration skills to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Alpharetta, Georgia, and manage own commuting arrangements

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate between $20 - $34, based on qualifications, graduation year, and experience
• No company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions, or paid time off for internships within the United States
