Accounting Intern will support general accounting for 3CDC’s diverse portfolio, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic non-profit real estate organization.
Your Role:
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in maintaining all applicable accounting records in accordance with accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Entering accounts payable and receivable and preparing general ledger entries on a regular basis.
- Preparing account reconciliations, asset operating summaries, and other internal reporting on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
- Assisting in preparation of semi-annual financial statements, monitoring financial performance to established budgets and projections, including completing variance analysis using analytical procedures.
- Responding to inquiries from management and other interested parties regarding accounting data, reporting, and project investments.
- Completing special projects as assigned.
- Performing other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
- Reporting directly to a Senior Accountant.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Must be an accounting major who has reached sophomore, junior, or senior status.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Use and knowledge of keying data into accounting software is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.
- Ability to work at a computer terminal for an extended period.
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.
- Able to speak and hear employees on the phone or in person.
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable movement around the office environment.
- Additional mental requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, and interpret.
- Ability to work well under stress.
- No licenses, credentials, or certifications required.
